    Article 1: Karma Currency

Tuesday, December 01, 2009 by Melissa Whitby

I recently came across a lovely idea, it is an eco-friendly, engaging and rewarding gift that empowers people to get involved and do something to help others.

Wouldn’t it be lovely to find a brand to get behind that?!

Australia’s first charity gift voucher program, and voted Australasian Fundraiser of the Year 2009, Karma Currency is a fabulous way to donate to charity. Check it out here karmacurrency but how about something like this for starters:

    • Consumer purchases participating product
    • Registers to be part of the promotion
    • Brand donates $$ via Karma Currency
    • Consumer receives branded Karma Currency gift voucher (via mail or email)
    • Consumer goes back to Karma Currency site and donates to charity of their choice

Consumers can choose to protect rainforests, educate kids, find cures for cancer, rescue gorillas and more. In fact with 100’s of charities and 1000’s of projects (the largest charitable gift registry in the southern hemisphere!) to choose from there is sure to be something for everyone. And, best of all, 100% of the voucher value reaches the chosen charity.

I’m not the creative one here – over to you – but surely there is something we can do?? It certainly can have the fixed fee magic applied to it so I would love to explore the possibilities...

Comment below or shoot me an email if you would like to know more or perhaps start to nut out a concept.

    Cheers
    Melissa
